Chapter News
Sometimes you are lucky enough to be passing by the airport to see some military assets using KTRK for high altitude training. While driving down 267 I saw a plane on crosswind thinking to myself that can't be what I think it is.
Turned off and watched a dual cockpit U2 make a low pass at our airport.
The 4th of July on this social distanced year was celebrated by hosting a number of C-47s / DC-3s and a Harpoon to do a flyover of Truckee, Donner Lake, Lake Tahoe and the vicinity. These magnificent planes salute our history and are a joy to see.
As of January 1, 2019, the chapter had flown 4,518 YEs
So far this year the chapter has flown 342 YEs at the post-airshow rally; two rallies at other airports - Nervino and Elko; six targeted mini-rallies for summer camps; and our monthly pancake breakfasts. That brings our total for the past 26 years of the program to 4,859 Young Eagles flown by our chapter.
Dr. Dave Powell will bring his Stanford doctoral students up to the chapter to give us peak at what is next in Aviation Navigation
